Fort Collins—-Larimer County Sheriff candidate Carl Bruning has received the endorsement of the Republican Liberty Caucus. Carl Bruning is also endorsed by Colorado State Senator Kevin Lundberg, former Sheriff Richard Mack, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners PAC, former Chief of Police Rich Wyatt, Colonel Jim Bush (USMC, retired), former Nassau County Police Detective Rudy Zitti, Ray Hickman, and Poudre School District board member Patrick Albright.
Carl Bruning is running as “Your Constitutional Sheriff” in Larimer County. The Republican Liberty Caucus website states, “Each of our endorsed candidates share common goals of dramatically reducing spending, cutting taxes, and an overall sense that government needs to return to its proper role and exercise only those powers enumerated in the Constitution.”
Bruning is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and served as an EC-130H pilot and aircraft commander in Operation Desert Shield. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree and has held senior executive business positions including general manager and vice president. Carl is the only candidate for sheriff with an MBA degree and business experience.
